Safeguarding

Adults

The statutory partners for Safeguarding Adults Boards (SABs) in England, as required by the Care Act 2014, are:

Local Authority – leads on safeguarding in its area.

Integrated Care Board (ICB) – Oversees health services and ensures healthcare safeguarding responsibilities.

Police – Ensures enforcement plays a role in protecting adults at risk.

Additional non-statutory members are also involved.

These partners work together to ensure effective safeguarding arrangements, investigate concerns, and promote adult well-being.  All agencies do everything they can to prevent abuse from occurring in the first place, to respond when abuse and neglect have taken place and improve the quality of life for adults in the region.

The Police and Crime Commissioner has committed funding to the four SABs in the Humber region to assist the partnerships in meeting its outcomes.

Children

The statutory partners for Local Safeguarding Childrens Partnerships (LSCPs) as set out in the Children Act 2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018) are:

1. Local Authorities – Responsible for children’s social care, education, early help, and housing services.

2. Police (Chief Officers of Police) – Responsible for investigating child abuse, preventing exploitation, and protecting children at risk.

3. Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) – Representing NHS health services, ensuring that health professionals contribute to safeguarding efforts.

Additional non-statutory members are also involved.

These statutory partners work together to ensure a coordinated approach to child protection, sharing information, and ensuring effective interventions.

The Police and Crime Commissioner has committed funding to the four LSCPs in the Humber region to assist the partnerships in meeting its outcomes.
