Launch of 'No More Knives' video

The Office of Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner Keith Hunter has funded a new hard-hitting video urging young people to make the right choice when deciding whether to carry a knife.

'No More Knives (put 'em down)' has been created by the team behind the Hull Beats Bus, an initiative designed to encourage our area's next generation to speak out about their hopes and aspirations through music.

The video is part of the No More Knives programme in partnership with Humberside Police and The Rich Foundation, which is touring schools throughout the force area with lively interactive presentations to students on the dangers of carrying a knife.

Keith Hunter said: "We have seen growing levels of violence involving knives in other parts of the country. I want to stop that occuring here and see young people involved in activities that lead to a better future for them. Educating young people on the dangers of carrying knives is vital and we have to make sure that the way we get the information across is relevant to them.
"I'm really proud of how everyone involved in this project has worked hard to bring it to fruition and hope the video is viewed far and wide to get the message across that you have a choice, so make the right choice."

No More Knives has also been backed by media partners Viking FM and the Hull Daily Mail, who won the Community Award for their work at the o2 media awards on 4th July.
