Recruitment of Joint Independent Audit Committee

Humberside's Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable are seeking to appoint a Joint Independent Audit Committee, of up to 5 members, which will provide independent assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk, and financial management arrangements in Humberside Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
As members of the Committee you will assist in giving confidence to local people on financial stewardship and overall governance arrangements.
To be considered for these roles, applicants must have an understanding and/or experience in financial or general management, together with knowledge of risk management and the roles of internal audit, external audit and an Audit Committee, ideally within the public sector. The ability to scrutinise, challenge and the possession of good communication skills are all vital attributes required for these roles. The successful applicants will also live or work in the Humberside Police Force area and be independent of both the Force and the Police and Crime Commissioner. Members will be appointed for a 3 or a 5 year period (dependent on preference) and be eligible for re-appointment for one additional term.
The Committee will under normal circumstances meet 4 times per year. Members will be expected to carry out other duties in connection with their role including, but not limited to, reading reports, being available for advice or being asked to input into projects/groups.
The role attracts an allowance and all reasonable expenses incurred will be reimbursed.
