Community Safety Partnerships
The police cannot tackle the issues of crime and disorder without the help and support of other agencies. The Crime and Disorder Act (1998) created Community Safety Partnerships (CSP's) in each local authority area and their task is to work together to reduce crime, disorder, substance misuse and reoffending. These partnerships are made up of organisations including the Local Authority, Humberside Police, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, Humberside Probation Trust, Health and other organisations.
The Police and Crime Commissioner is not a statutory member of CSP's but does provide funding for each of them to help achieve their own objectives and those in the Commissioner's Police and Crime Plan. The Commissioner can also meet with them and request reports on significant crime and disorder issues.
